PARTICIPATION IN THE PREPARATORY EVENT FOR THE UKRAINE RECOVERY CONFERENCE “SKILLS4RECOVERY: SKILLED WORKFORCE FOR UKRAINE’S RECOVERY” (KYIV, MARCH 26, 2024)

On March 26, 2024, the preparatory event for the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2024) entitled “Skills4Recovery: Skilled Workforce for Ukraine’s Recovery” was held in Kyiv.

The event aims to enhance the supply of skilled workforce to support Ukraine’s recovery efforts.

Key focuses included:

  • Developing skills and providing knowledge to involve the population as professional workers in the recovery process.
  • Assisting in the activation of vulnerable population groups, such as combatants and internally displaced persons (IDPs), in the labour market and engaging them in the country’s reconstruction.
  • Supporting youth in obtaining quality education during times of war.

At the event, both national and foreign experts delivered speeches on the contemporary challenges that Ukraine faces due to russian armed aggression. They also discussed the importance of aligning with the European labour market as a prerequisite for Ukraine’s accession to the EU. Furthermore, the speakers highlighted the significance of preparing a skilled workforce for the country’s recovery and the role and scale of international support, particularly from Germany, on this path.

Representatives from the SSI “Institute of Educational Analytics” who participated in the event included Hanna Tereshchenko, Deputy Director for Scientific and Organizational Work, PhD in Economics; Andrii Kyrianov, Deputy Director for Scientific-Project Work and IT; and Serhii Melnyk, Head of the Higher Education Sector of the Department of Educational Statistics and Analytics, PhD in Economics.
