VІ INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “INTEGRATION OF THE UKRAINIAN EDUCATION SYSTEM INTO THE EUROPEAN EDUCATION AREA” WAS CONDUCTED (25 October 2024)
On 25 October 2024, the VI International Scientific and Practical Conference “Integration of the Ukrainian Education System into the European Education Area” was held. The event took place within the framework of the “Eurydice Network in Ukraine: Access and Cooperation” (ENUAC) project, co-funded by the European Commission, at the National Eurydice Unit in Ukraine – the SSI “Institute of Educational Analytics”.
The conference brought together representatives from state education authorities, educational institutions, research organisations, NGOs and the international community, and provided a platform for exchanging ideas on the harmonisation of education legislation, international cooperation and the integration of Ukrainian education into the European Education Area.
During the plenary session, speakers presented their research and discussed current challenges in the fields of education and science. The event was moderated by Andrii Lytvynchuk, Head of the Ukrainian National Eurydice Unit, Director of the SSI “Institute of Educational Analytics”, PhD in Economics, Senior Researcher.
Although unable to attend in person, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Nadiia Kuzmychova delivered a welcome speech, which was read by the moderator. A greeting was also presented from the Danish Eurydice National Unit, which mentors the Ukrainian Eurydice National Unit.

- “State regulation of the development of the general secondary education system on the way to the implementation of Ukraine’s European choice” – Volodymyr Bozhynskyi, Researcher at the Analytical Centre ‘OsvitAnalytics’ of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University.
- “Ukraine in the PISA international education assessment: key results and challenges” – Hanna Bychko, Head of the Research and Analytics Department of the Ukrainian Centre for Educational Quality Assessment.
- “Crises and Generation Z: shaping a new outlook” – Ilze Jankovska, PhD, Associate Professor of Riga Technical University (Latvia).
- “Using the European experience of public-private partnership to develop the vocational education sector” – Hanna Belinska, PhD, Senior Researcher, Associate Professor of Business Analytics and Digital Economy of National Aviation University.
- “Regulatory and legal regulation of distance work of a teacher at a Ukrainian higher education institution” – Ihor Zhyliaiev, Doctor of Economics, Senior Researcher, Professor of the National Aviation University.
- “Opportunities to improve the integration of Ukrainian refugee schoolchildren into EU educational systems” – Serhgiy Londar, Doctor of Economics, Professor, First Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the SSI “Institute of Educational Analytics”.
The second part of the conference had a more practical focus and was dedicated to discussing specific issues in the field of education within the expert community. In particular, the participants examined the practical aspects of the implementation of international projects of the SSI “Institute of Educational Analytics”. Andriy Lytvynchuk shared insights into implementing the EU Erasmus+ project “Eurydice Network in Ukraine: Access and Cooperation” (ENUAC) and outlined the key priorities for the national unit of Eurydice in Ukraine. Serhii Melnyk discussed the details of the implementation of the EU Horizon Europe research and innovation project “Skills Partnerships for Sustainable and Just Migration Patterns” (Skills4Justice) and summarised the outcomes of the project’s first year.
Special attention was given to the implementation of educational reforms in Ukraine within the context of European integration processes, as well as the specifics of integrating internally displaced Ukrainian schoolchildren and teachers into the EU educational systems. Additionally, the role of NGOs in fostering international cooperation in education and science in Ukraine was discussed. Tetiana Dmytrenko, Head of the Department of International Finance and Financial Security at the Institute of Global Economics and International Finance, Academy of Financial Management, presented this topic.
In the final part of the conference, Andrii Lytvynchuk summed up the event, emphasising the importance of the topics and achievements discussed and the need to implement them to harmonise the Ukrainian education system with the European education area.
