THE III INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE “EDUCATION REFORM IN UKRAINE. INFORMATION AND ANALYTICAL SUPPORT” WAS HELD (KYIV, OCTOBER 28, 2021)
The III International Scientific and Practical Conference “EDUCATION REFORM IN UKRAINE. INFORMATION AND ANALYTICAL SUPPORT’’ took place on October 28th, 2021 on the basis of the State Scientific Institution “Institute of Educational Analytics” with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Because of the implementation of enhanced epidemic control measures related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference was held online on the Google Meet platform.
The main purpose of the conference is to exchange knowledge and experience, the scientific discussion on finding solutions to the current problems of education and science, as well as the development of promising information and communication technologies for scientific and educational activities (including under quarantine restrictions), informing the scientific community about the latest achievements on these issues, promoting the search for a scientific partnership.
The conference considered a wide range of topical issues in reforming the educational and scientific system of Ukraine, as well as information and analytical support of the educational process within the following thematic areas:
- Section 1. Education management
- Section 2. Financial and economic aspects of education
- Section 3. Development of information and educational technologies
- Section 4. Inclusive education
- Section 5. General secondary education
- Section 6. Vocational education and vocational pre-tertiary education
- Section 7. Higher education
- Section 8. Adult education
- Section 9. International educational space
The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovation, heads of state organizations, managers, scientists, specialists of research organizations, teachers, educators, methodologists, doctoral students, graduate students, students, and young scientists, as well as all stakeholders.
The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitization Artur Seletskyi, Deputy Head of the Committee on Education, Science and Innovations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Sergiy Koleboshyn and Director of the SSI “Institute of Educational Analytics”, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Sergiy Londar delivered a welcome address to the conference participants.
In his speech, Artur Seletskyi drew attention to the fact that the education and science system is currently in a state of rapid digital change, given the urgent, objective need for its IT modernization. Indeed, the existing strong demand of the public, educational applicants, parents, educators, managers has only intensified in the context of the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic. At the same time, more and more qualifications demanded by the labor market presuppose confident mastery of information technologies. IT technologies in education make it truly barrier-free, accessible to everyone and transform approaches to organizing the educational process at a new quality level. The conference, held by the SSI “Institute of Educational Analytics” focuses on issues of functioning, development, formation of information and analytical systems of education management is a relevant reflection of educational needs and objective realities of today. The importance of the conference is further enhanced by the fact that it allows the development of a road map, together with industry experts, a specific vision for the modernization of existing software products and the creation of new ones in the near term. At the end of his statement, Artur Seletskyi wished all participants of the conference productive work and interesting discussions.
Sergiy Koleboshyn noted during his speech that the III International Scientific and Practical Conference “Education reform in Ukraine. Information and analytical support’’ is a landmark event in the context of ensuring the development of the Ukrainian educational and scientific system. In fact, extremely important and topical issues of transformation are being brought up for discussion in all levels of the educational system, from pre-school to higher education and adult education. In his statement, he outlined the priorities of educational policy reform, among which is the reform of the school education system – New Ukrainian School (NUS), whose main task is to create a high-quality and modern school where educated, happy, healthy children study. He expressed the hope that the professional dialogue would take advantage of the opportunities for a multifaceted consideration of the outlined issues, and that proposals on how best to address them will be reflected in the Collection of scientific reports of the conference participants. Sergiy Koleboshyn wished the conference participants creative experience in finding rational, scientifically-based approaches to meet new global challenges, as well as ways to improve the system of information and analytical support of education and digital transformation in Ukraine.
Sergiy Londar covered the organizational issues of the event in more detail. He greeted all participants of the conference and thanked them for their interest in the traditional scientific and communication event of the SSI “Institute of Educational Analytics”. Sergiy Londar stressed that a large audience of stakeholders had joined the event this year, as evidenced by the large number of scientific reports received, which covers current issues and presents proposals for the successful implementation of the main reforms in the field of education and science of Ukraine. Also, he emphasized the importance of reliable information and analytical support for the formation of an effective educational policy, which is carried out by the SSI “Institute of Educational Analytics”. In view of this, Sergiy Londar presented details of the Institute’s information educational systems during the plenary sessions. In conclusion, he wished all participants a fruitful and constructive discussion, which will allow them to try to implement new ideas for both educators and managers, as well as good health and well-being.

At the end of the event, the results of the conference were summarized. Also, promising areas for further research were outlined and all interested parties were invited to cooperate. By the results of the сonference the Collection of abstracts of the IІI International Scientific and Practical Conference “EDUCATION REFORM IN UKRAINE. INFORMATION AND ANALYTICAL SUPPORT’’ was prepared. All participants of the сonference received a Certificate confirming the publication of abstracts in the Collection. The сonference materials are also available on the website of the SSI “Institute of Educational Analytics” under the heading “Materials of communication events”.
