SEMINAR ON THE CREATION OF A LEGISLATIVE FRAMEWORK OF VIRTUAL ASSETS WAS HELD (OSCE SECRETARIAT, VIENNA, DECEMBER 5-7, 2022)
On December 5-7, 2022, a seminar was held in Vienna on the creation of a legislative base of virtual assets within the framework of the joint project OSCE and UNODC “Solutions proposed by innovative approaches to the mitigation of money laundering risks through virtual assets”.The event was aimed at addressing the risks associated with using virtual assets for criminal purposes and circumventing international sanctions regimes.
The Ukrainian delegation included representatives of the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, the Cyber Police Department, Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Finance, Tax and Customs. From the SSI “Institute of Educational Analytics”, Hanna Tereshchenko – Deputy Director for Scientific and Organizational Work, PhD in Economics, Senior Researcher participated in the event.
The seminar noted that an important part of the project should be to ensure the improvement of digital and financial literacy, as well as the development of citizens’ competence in cybersecurity.
Hanna Tereshchenko reported on the increase of competence in the circulation of crypto-assets, as well as on the directions of improving cybersecurity, digital and financial literacy.
