This report highlights the results of monitoring of implementation of new approaches to primary school education (third and fourth stage of study were conducted in the context of pupils’ education in the second grade of pilot schools). The monitoring study was conducted by the State Scientific Institution “Institute of Educational Analytics” in collaboration with Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Third stage of monitoring lasted from 11 December 2018 to 9 January 2019, fourth stage of monitoring lasted from 22 May to 4 June 2019. The purpose of the study was to determine the peculiarities of the process of implementation of new approaches to primary school education.

The study involved using of quantitative strategy of data collection that implies obtaining of statistically reliable data. The study involved 100 schools that were selected by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine as pilot schools. Respondents included the principals, deputy directors and teachers. The sample of directors, deputy directors and teachers provides that each member of the general population enter the sample. Sampling consisted of panels of four directors, four deputies and eight teachers from each region of Ukraine. The online questionnaire and Google Forms service were used to gather primary information.

The study found that at the end of the school year, there was a positive increase of assertions’ estimation about the results of the experiment.
